Join us for a casual evening of delicious food, yummy drinks, lotería, and networking with folks passionate about our food system!
San Diego Food System Alliance is hosting quarterly social hours this year that highlight local food businesses while building connections across our community food system. For this year’s second social hour, join us at El Borrego in City Heights, owned and operated by mother-daughter duo Rosario Sotelo and Rodnia Attiq.
While this event is free, we ask that you register so that we can plan accordingly. Space is limited.
About El Borrego
El Borrego has been an icon of City Heights food and culture for two decades. El Borrego is known for its home-style Mexican food, featuring their signature: traditional, rustic lamb barbacoa.
Rosario Sotelo discovered her love for food and cooking at a young age. Growing up in Guerrero, Mexico, she remembers watching her caretakers prepare authentic Mexican food for her family. Rosario fell in love with the way that food brought people together. She especially fell in love with el borrego, which translates to lamb in english, because it is a dish meant for celebration and bringing family together.
Today, Rosario, along with her daughter Rodnia share the power of unity through food as the heart and soul of a small family owned restaurant in San Diego that specializes in el borrego.
