Our 2025 Year in Review

In a year that challenged our movement, we showed up with care, courage, and a commitment to building local food economies rooted in justice, community, and love.

The Alliance works to transform our food system to change how we live, not just how we eat.

HEAR FROM OUR COMMUNITY

Thank you for providing a safe space for me to grow and be involved in. This is very special for me.

2025 HIGHLIGHTS

Welcomed 400 Annual Gathering attendees

Over 400 people attended our 5th Annual Gathering around the theme of Mobilization.

I have been attending the SDFSA Gathering for 4 years now, and always walk away feeling inspired and motivated. This year in particular felt grounded in action and liberation—it was my favorite gathering yet!

Coached 15 local food businesses

This year, we supported 15 small-scale farmers, fishermen, and food business owners through the Pollinator business planning and coaching program.

Our unique program is tailored to each individual business’ needs. On average, Pollinator businesses receive assistance across four different topical areas (i.e. business planning, operations, marketing, bookkeeping, cooperative development, etc.)

Mobilized $700,000 for local food

We celebrated four years of our Local Food Economy Lab!

Since its founding in 2021, the Lab has served over 250 small-scale farmers, fishermen, and food businesses, and mobilized over $700k for our local food economy in grants, loans, and services.

Guided by 3 goals, 10 objectives

Our work continues to be guided by San Diego County Food Vision 2030.

We now find ourselves at the halfway point of this ten-year journey. We gathered reflections from the Stewardship Committee, offering a glimpse into the milestones and community progress made over the past five years.
